Tomorrow Coffs Harbour Boardriders are helping out Ritchie West and his family, there will be a donation tin at the BBQ tomorrow and also getting handed around tomorrow at The Moonee Tavern. Richie West moved to Coffs Harbour in 1975 to make surfboards with Bob Cooper. He shaped surfboards for Cooper Surfboards for many many years and then has continued to shape surfboards under his own label. If you speak to anyone in the Coffs Harbour surfing community they will have had or do still have several Richie West surfboards.
Richie is living gallantly with the effects of a brain tumour. His wife & children have rallied to Nurse Richie. But during this full time care Richie has been unable to work.
