What a beauty of a day sunday was at Park Beach, right outside the surf club. With our beaches in tatters from east coast storms we are very limited for location choices, but Parkies proved a safe little spot in the corner for our groms and larger waves with open faces further down the beach for everyone else.
We crowned so many first time champs on sunday, and some very big scores rewarding the chunky and overhead conditions for our surfers.
First time winners from sunday were Elise Carrie in the junior girls – a standout all day scoring a 7.75 in her opening heat.
Maxy McCarthy got a very well deserved win in the 12 boys, also his very first finals appearance. He jagged a cracking 6 in a heat of mainly close outs.
Kingston Williams got his first win in the 10 boys with some very brave take offs and highest scoring wave of the heat (thanks dad!)
Ivy scored her first 10 with a wave that looked triple overhead to her and took her all the way into the beach.
Whilst Jacko Hammond also got his first win of the year in the 16s, it was a really tight final between Jack, Mase, Zave and Ocean with the lead changing multiple times right up to the hooter.
Also unreal to see Jack Morrison get up over Dad Bretto – again!
Creed’s heat totals were nothing under a massive 17.00 points all day. The big conditions definitely suited his smooth powerful surfing.
So much joy came from our CHBC family sunday, one of the best fun and enjoyable comps we’ve had in a while – must’ve been those amazing Korean Bipimbap bowls! Huge thanks to the dawn patrol work crew again, you guys have it wired.
