All booked guests have until March 31st to take advantage of our relaxed T&C’s if having a Covid related complication affecting your ability to travel. Please be aware that after March 31st, there may be a penalty if wanting to reschedule your booking. Please refer to our terms and conditions of booking here

And the good news is, we are extending our Covid special for next years’ surf coaching clinics for a limited time only, “Surfers at Non-surfer Rates” – Save USD $700/week. You can read more about it here
3. Other Specials: Long-stay discounts are currently available all year round where you get 30% off the surfer package in your second and additional weeks, and we still have limited early bird discounts available where the first 5 surfers to book each week get 20% off and the next 5 get 10% off. 5. And finally, this is the News We Have Been Waiting For!
There has been talk about this for the past few days, but we wanted to ensure it was confirmed by immigration before sharing it with you – no more quarantine and visa on arrival (VOA) is now available, read on for details!!
We couldn’t be more excited to share this news with you. There are still some requirements that we have outlined below, yet we are stoked to see things moving in the right direction. We hope things will continue to improve, and travel will return to how it was pre-pandemic with zero medical-based restrictions.
Before sharing this with you, we want to thank you all again for your huge support over the years! We know these past two years haven’t been easy, yet we want to thank every single one of you that have continued to support us from afar all along. We wouldn’t be able to do what we love without you all, so thanks again!
Quarantine Updates: Quarantine is no longer required for travelers arriving in Bali as long as you meet the criteria below
Visa On Arrival: Visa On Arrival is available in Bali; you must have a passport from one of the 23 countries listed below. Visa on Arrival will grant a free 30 days stay and the option to have one extension to add an additional 30 days.
* If your country of citizenship is not on this list then a visa to enter Indonesia costs from USD $250 and can be ready in as soon as 3-4 working days.
FAQ – While this is very exciting news, you might still have some questions. We have done our best to answer the most frequently asked questions below.
1. Does the no quarantine rule only apply if I receive a Visa on Arrival?
No, when looking at these two updates, you must look at them entirely differently.
Do I have to quarantine? Whether you have to quarantine or not will depend on if you are double vaccinated (minimum). If you meet the criteria mentioned above, you don’t have to quarantine if you fly into Bali, and your citizenship doesn’t affect this.
2. If I am double vaccinated, how is this different from the previously announced quarantine?
When looking at the criteria, you probably noticed you have to have a reservation at any hotel for four days, and you must take a 2nd PCR test on your third day. This implies that you must stay in Bali for four days while you await the result of your second PCR test. The difference is that you can enjoy Bali and travel freely around the area while you wait for the second result given to you on day 4. You are not confined to your room or the hotel; you can do any of the activities you would do otherwise. After these four days, upon receiving your second negative PCR test, you can travel to other parts of Indonesia. For Macaronis Resort guests, this would mean you would have four days to travel, surf, dine, shop, and enjoy Bali before making your way over to Padang and Macaronis Resort.
3. If I don’t have the booster, do I have to quarantine?
As of recently, visitors are only required to be double vaccinated, full details here
4. If I am not vaccinated, can I enter Indonesia?
Currently, the only way you can enter Indonesia without being vaccinated is to have a letter from your doctor stating you can’t get vaccinated for medical reasons. We will continue to monitor this and send out an update as soon as updates are announced.
5. If I am not a citizen of one of the 23 countries, can I still visit?
If your country of citizenship isn’t on the list of the 23 countries, you can still enter Indonesia, yet you must apply for a Visa which costs from USD 250 and takes as little as 3-4 days to be ready.
6. Is visiting Macaronis Resort worth it?
100% it is; and the sooner the better! For example, March 25 we only have 9 surfers booked, April 01 – 10 surfers booked, and April 22 – 13 surfers booked. We still have limited availability in most other weeks in April and May as well.
We hope this information is helpful if planning a trip, and we look forward to hosting many of you soon! If you are planning to visit us this year, be sure to contact us soon to secure the final early-bird discounts of 2022 or to secure your preferred dates in 2023.
Thank you again for your ongoing support, we look forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards,
Macaronis Resort Management
