What: Trauma & Bleeding Control Course (presented by TacMed Military
Medics)
Cost: $0 for participants (paid by Surfing NSW)
When: Friday May 30, 2025 – Please meet at 08:50am for a 9:00am start
Where: Meet on the beach at the Surfers Rescue tent at Macauley’s (northern
end of Park Beach)
Duration: Approximately 3 hours.
Notes: This is a physical course that takes place on the sand in
all-weather conditions. It may include a water component, so please come
prepared. We suggest to bring boardies, a wetsuit or wettie top (if it’s
cold), a towel, and be ready to get slightly wet.
The course will run in all weather conditions and includes a physical
component (optional).

This course, “Bleeding Control in Aquatic Environment” was developed by
Surfing NSW in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries (DPI)
and the NSW Government through their Shark Management Program. We’re stoked
to bring it to Coffs Harbours and give members of your community the
opportunity to learn these valuable and potential lifesaving skills.
The course is designed to equip surfers, swimmers and ocean users with
training to handle severe trauma-related injurie including shark attack, fin
chop, propeller injury, laceration and other trauma related injuries. These
skills are also applicable in everyday life also!
Specialised training will be delivered by TacMed Military Medics who as
experts with extensive experience in special operations within military and
