Our groms were lucky enough to have a surf session with legendary ISA 2024 Junior World Champ & Rip Curl surfer Dane Henry on saturday.
Dane & Georgie arrived in the carpark at Diggers and were immediately inundated by our groms just frothing over seeing him in real life! . Wink ran through a few ideas for the morning, encouraging us all to share waves, enjoy the surf and do it with a smile on ya face. The race to the water began with southern diggers offering the groms some really fun little left and right wedges to go hard on.
We had Dane’s fave videographer Macho (who famously recorded Dane’s mad backflip at the Skull Candy last year) recording the session so we could head back to the Hoey Moey and feast on some pizzas and watch the session plus Dane’s incredible edit for Stab. Dane offered a light hearted Q&A with Wink giving insight into the key to progressing his surfing so quickly – TO ALWAYS HAVE FUN!!!
Rip Curl were so supportive of the day giving us over 20 prizes to hand out to groms, who we all voted for best manoeuvres after watching the footage and collectively choosing who did the best.
