Wrapping up our last comp of the year at Macauleys on a beautiful November sunday.
The waves were small but truly pristine, suiting our micro groms and push in divisions with some of our 8’s & 10’s getting some crackers. Even the older divisions were finding some gems, the sun had some of that summer bite that we have all been looking forward to.
Judging was on point with no hold ups during the day and once that wind came up it was a little tricky to hold down all the tents. Again there were plenty of hands to help our final pack up of the year, so great to see our club spirit so alive deep into our competition season.
The girls were rocking the BBQ, thank you to Julz who supplied some amazing chicken & tofu bibimbap for our surfers and it was an absolute hit, keeping us all refueled along with Lexi’s epic B+E Rolls! so awesome to see some of the dads put on the BBQ apron and help out too.
In the B division, 17 year old Barton Fltecher got up over all the older boys but had to surrender his case of Coopers to dad Greg. The 16 boys final at the end of the day was an absolute cracker with all the boys going wave for wave , big efforts in the small surf, definitely the heat of the day with Carter, Tye, Luca and Hamish all pushing each other to surf their best. In our junior girls Amber Fletcher had a win in the semi in a close heat with Matilda ending up winning the final. Congratulations to George beating all the other Kiwi boys to take the A grade win.
So much fun this season – thanks to everyone who makes things work, there are so many!
Next up our CHBC golf day on the 17th, AGM on the 20th and the big one our presso on the 30th.
