Joined by former WSL surfer Stuey Kennedy and former ASP surfer Trent Munro the surfing produced on the club championship day was nothing short of mammoth.
The club championship had a bit of a different format to our usual club rounds and this made it all the more exciting!
Format- Every member of the whole Coffs Harbour boardriders club were all put into 1 division. The 1st & 2nd places of each division progressed through in the ‘A’ division and the competitors who placed 3rd & 4th progressed to the ‘B’ division so the format starts with 1 division and then splits into ‘A’ and ‘B’.
This made it exciting because you never knew who was going to be in your heat! A 10 year old could be matched up against Stuey Kennedy or Trent Munro!
The club championship narrowed down to 4 surfers. These surfers were- Club president Lee Winkler, Billy Kean, Trent Munro and Stuey Kennedy. It was an exciting final with impressive surfing by all 4 surfers but Stuey Kennedy took the first title by the name of Club Champion!
