Our final comp of the 2025 season went off with a bang! The early morning thunderstorms cleared as the sun rose and the work crew set up at middle Diggers. We expected a southerly change and waited patiently all day but it never showed up, so strategies changed and lefts turned into rights.
We opened our day with our premier divisions, Open Men & Women and it was so great to have the old faithful crew of Hunter, George & Teal come back for our last comp of the year.
Our Rippers faced a few challenges in the corner with some very turbulent conditions and the low tide, but with the support of our formidable water safety crew they were in safe hands. Not only did the lead change 7 times in their heat – everyone had a chance to take the win. Congratulations to Millsy for being crowned the final division winner of 2025!
Some big scores and big achievements went down:
Neo surfed unassisted in the 10 boys for the first time and scored himself a 10 + 8.50 for a mega total of 18.5. Don’t think you are required anymore Ross!!
Zave got his very first final win in the 14 boys with a 7.75 + 9.10 for a massive heat total of 16.85.
Jetty took out the 12 boys in the last 2 minutes with a 7.25 + 9.00 for his excellent total of 16.25.
Lyla also got her first win in the Open Womens, not an easy achievement!
Whilst Benji,George, Creed and Matilda all scored totals of 15+ throughout the day as well.
Nachos were an absolute standout all day – thank you Lexi and your support crew. All the girls helping really do make the BBQ look effortless.
Thank you Stevie for being on the mic all day, sometimes hard to hear with the wind but everybody appreciates your score updates.
Shout out to one of our micro shredders Joel after an encounter with the local Wabbegong, see you in the water soon little legend!
