Groms of all ages arrived at Diggers Beach with a smile fixed to their dial ready to share in the spirit and stoke of our wonderful club.
Surfing superstar and current WCT surfer Sally Fitzgibbons added to the amazing energy of the day, stopping off for a visit on her way south and spending a few hours hanging out with our club members.
Sal’s energy and enthusiasm for the sport is infectious and it was such a thrill to have her join us. We can’t wait to see how she fares on the world tour this year – good luck Sal!
As the first comp of the year there was a tonne of newcomers, many who have never competed before and all were given a huge CHBC welcome. Seeing the joy on their faces was priceless and we look forward to having them all as part of the club for a long time to come.
With such a huge field and a stack of heats to get through, it was a massive day for our committee members and volunteers, who worked their butts off behind the scenes to ensure the day ran seamlessly.
All our volunteers on the BBQ cooked up a storm, with all profits from the day going to the NSW RFS Mid North Coast Divisions.
If you think that was a fun day out, look out for the Club Challenge Day on the 21st March, regarded by many as the best comp of the year! If you haven’t already signed up, text Comp Director Ian Klaus on 0434 775 600.
Following that the next regular comp round will be held on the 26th April.
